The Spacing tool might be easier for this. I'm sure i'm not alone in finding the Array tool quite confusing; maybe I just don't use it often enough but I always have to re-learn it every time I use it, unlike everything else in MAX >_<.
Hm perhaps, but I find the 3d arrays, polar arrays etc pretty useful. I find the AutoCAD one more annoying than 3dsm :D

Lol, i'm impressed with Autodesk if they can make a more annoying tool than that. To be fair I played around with it for a while and figured it out, it just isn't very intuitive but I can see how it would allow for some really cool effects, especially for abstract art.
nice little tutorial there man.. I'm gona pass that onto some of my max friends :)

Nice Tutorial, and yeah splines are definitly the best way to do frames for anything ;p (i have over 60 of them on my tank ~.~)

Atleast in C4D the Array tool actually pretty usefull and not so hunky as in 3dsmax, you can rotate and change values as you want while its active, even randomize everything

No idea how Autodesk managed to make such a important tool so horrible to use
I heard they revamped a few things in 3dsmax 2009 though i havent had a chance to check it out
Another thing that is archaic from back in 3dsmax 3 and even earlier is the damn material editor they really need to revamp that. Ive had heaps of crashes when turning on certain materials in viewport etc.
