Too many shadows, it looked better without them, maybe 3 maximum if you really need shadows.

The design itself is excellent, good work. Too many shadows though, sorry to say that again but it does look distracting.

Hmmmm, looks like you have some exposure on those leg actuators that need some armor... what, oh sorry, too much Armored Core. That is awesome man, you should look at some Bipedals and see what you can do. just one little technical crit, you have an extra barrel in the middle of those chain guns, I understand artistic license, but that's just not normally there. Keep up the good work.

Sweetness! I really like the mechs feet and those dual chainguns! I do agree the the shadows need to be softened but that does not really matter. What matters here is this is an awesome mech! Vey good work man. :)

thanks~
i was doing shadows using ray tracing here, which gives it defined edges. ive looked at a tutorial (which iggy showed me) on using light maps to do shadows but when they get blurred i kinda lose the definition in perspective, i mean, with blurrier shadows its harder to see the distinction between ovject and ground plane.

Yea, I did not think about that.. What if you used a reflective surface under the mech?? That may help but it will give it a certian style you may not want... :)

i was just tweaking the settings and it seems okay with some blurring of shadows. Ill upload a 16x12 version as wallpaper, if anyones interested, but using the shadowmap version (so you can see the difference)

Nice modeling.

I see you used the light dome technique. It's a good way to get the GI look. You'll want to soften the shadows the next time you use it though. Check out this tut on shadows.
