Test render WIP1 by kheng Test render WIP1 by kheng
Rough blocking of a ship concept i modelled in 3dsmax 9 / Scanline Renderer. Will probably have to take ink levels down to 1 for final render since they didnt want shadows or anything.

Just testing the ink n paint renderer
for some reason i get jaggy lines even when i use global supersampling, i guess it must be due to the paint shader

Any comments on the size and massing / possible class of this ship? I have never played EVE online before but just looked at a few ref images that was provided.

Nice looking test render, I will have to say that your building either a Gallente or Amarr ship ship of some kind by the look of the model, more Gallente then Amarr in my opinion.

Hi, if you use Vray for rendering your ship, you can close the shadows and shoot the render with wireframes or no shadowed structure. Nice ship btw, would like to see the other angles...

hm yea VrayEdgesTex shader is nice but it shows the internal edges too where as i only really want the outline, might just go with ink n paint render higher res and rescale down

I do not use max but what format are you rendering out to? The jaggy lines could be the image file type. See if you can render .eps maybe? I had these issues before in various apps. Usually it's the image format.

I think its the Ink and Paint render shader from max, if i use thicker lines its fine but thinner lines dont seem to anti alias properly. Anyway i could probably render at 2x size then shrink it down for the final render

Cruiser or battlecruiser, too long to be anything smaller too short to be anything bigger.

i am always amazed about the fact you can think of such things. Altho the lines may be jagged in this rendering it totally doesnt bother me. it fits the looks

I was kinda going for Gallente i guess, What parts of it make it look like an Amarian ship?

well the front section that covers dorsal section has that amarrian feel to it and aft reminds me of a gallente ships. and if your looking into a nice spot for ship spotting try Jita planet 4 moon 4's navy assembly plant theres pretty much alot of traffic around that station no matter what time of day. thou flying there you should put in prefer safe routes and penalty around 75 :) as a new player since low security systems tend to have gate camps in them.

450 meters is generally battlecruiser sized. Seems like an interesting design and eager to see the rest of the views.
