I have the same problem with one of my 3d mmos. After quitting XP freezes for anywhere between 10 seconds and a minute.

Though, I have yet to find anything online that may help with that idea. If i come up with anything I'll post.

Mine's different, but nutty nonetheless. Mine... It's like the computer's keep "alt+F4" by it self, try doing nothing but pressing alt+F4 every 2 secs and you'll see what I'm facing here.

It only happens once in a while though.

Sometimes it seems to take a while to 'unload' the game, especially with more intensive games like battlefield 2 or oblivion. During this time everything is pretty frozen up and I can hear my computer thinking alot harder than usual.

Try a Memory test... Also check that all your RAM is seated properly. Does it freeze on the desktop, or with a blank screen?

Update your drivers.. its almost always a driver at fault i have found, BF2 wouldnt run on my familys PC for ages, threw some random directx error i could figure out, in the end updating the SOUND driver fixed it..

it shows the desktop but it doesnt seem to respond to anything. icant click on start menu or even see my task manager when i ctrlaltdel (although i see a loading sign thingy when i press it)

it might be that actually, i had some weird problems with serious sam 2 sound cutting out when the voice bit came up

I've never had that problem, but my computer will slow down alot when theres more then one thing going on in my RCT3 game
